Located right by the Indian Ocean nestled in a garden of bamboo, palm trees and lush greens lies my happy place: Ashiyana Yoga.

Namaste! This was my fourth time here and I got to spend a week with my friend Verena, enjoying the unique vibe of this place.

We chose to stay at the so called „beach huts“ which are made of bamboo mats and are located closest to the sea. At night we were falling asleep to the sounds of waves breaking on the beach.

One of the highlights this time was definitely being part of the celebration of “holi“, an ancient Hindu religious festival celebrating the arrival of spring. Holi is also given the name "Festival of Colours" because as part of the celebration people throw colour powder at each other - so did we...

Our daily program usually included the following:

yoga class from 8-10am afterwards breakfast til 11am (delicious fresh fruit and much more!), beach time, yoga class 4-6pm, dinner 7-8pm, various evening activities from 8:30pm.

There‘s also a spa onsite offering various types of Ayurvedic treatments as well as massages etc. My favourite is definitely the two hour Thai-Yoga-Massage!
